Summary
“I have faith that there are more than technological workings in there, despite my insufficient knowledge –” Gabriel paused without breath, mulling it over, “– so would you… reconsider your intentions of further descent?”
They craned their neck at a sharper angle, audials straining to hear him.
“No – beyond that, I wish for you to find some other way and live. For me.”
Hell does not bestow upon the victor of its simulated bloodbath with a crown of laurels, but an ultimatum.
V1 knows that triumph is their demise.

Summary
Gabriel hurriedly pulled out the paperwork from where he’d stuffed it into his satchel strapped to his belt. Keeping one eye on the pair of machines below, he rifled through the crumpled paper almost desperately, actually reading the damn thing beyond the barebones profile at the start and hoped that the pull he felt towards the machine was because it had just killed his actual human charge and was hauling about their blood-
Charge's History: Created by WORMWOOD FOUNDARIES, a mobile landship who services the EASTERN DESERT PLAINS, and a prototype machine built to combat the now defunct Earthmovers. Only one was created, though a ‘Security Variant’ called V2 was created one year after activation-
GOD-FUCKING-DAMN IT.
or;
Due to a clerical error, Gabriel gets assigned as V1's guardian angel, who is on the run with V2 to avoid decommissioning. Gabriel is too stubborn to give up before he gives it an honest try, though.

“Doest thou enjoy this view?” Minos commented after allowing Gabriel a moment for himself, “Time after time, it always blesses mine eyes; it’s a wondrous thing.”
The archangel scoffed. “Wondrous for sinners. This development leaves much to be desired- this is Hell, Minos. There is no beauty in crime.”
“Hm.” The king only retorted, contemplative.

Summary
“Same blood,” The Angel of Judgment's tone is curt, losing patience with Gabriel’s arguing.
Gabriel hesitates, “Er, yes, the machine does possess my blood, but that does not–”
“Same body.”
Gabriel splutters, “We do NOT–”
Abruptly, Judgment summons a vision. Gabriel stares at his own corpse in stunned silence. Where they had fallen in battle, they truly look as if they had crawled into each other’s skin. Angel and machine, utterly entwined. It is impossible to distinguish where one of them ends and the other begins.
“Ah…” Gabriel struggles to find the words to argue. “Well… That’s– um.”

Summary
When Lust’s denizens broke at his feet, stuck between one world of pain and another world of tortuous winds, — winds that for so long had felt like the gentlest breeze — did they feel this same helplessness? This sinking, crushing feeling of being trapped in a situation?

Summary
The saying is: “An eye for an eye.” All his life, Gabriel has plucked both from whomever, whenever, while sparing neither of his own. He doesn’t have any to begin with, and that’s the trick.
He is the worst kind of weapon, is he not? Even if he wasn’t intended to be one? He is gaudy whereas the Leviathan is primitively humble. He is an unfair, bitter loser where the machine was candid and unbothered. He is a dogmatic fool who doesn’t deserve a bed in this hotel, nor a wad of space anywhere else.
But he is so nice to look at, isn’t he? So nice to touch, to rouse. Can Minos truly be blamed for this traitorous indulgence?
Can Gabriel truly be blamed for anything at all?

Summary
Because at the end of the day, that's what it was: a weapon.
A weapon humanity had crafted, not in their own image as their creator was said to have done, but in the image of their elder siblings. In the image of the angels that were said to live far above, doling out their judgement upon humanity.
Hah.
How ironic.
From across the ruined pavilion, the hovering form of the archangel loomed.

Summary
Sisyphus swore he would tear down the city of Heaven, as retribution for their ceaseless punishment against mankind and his people. Freed by V1 from the Panopticon, and emboldened by the machine's brutal defeat, he is interrupted by Gabriel. The archangel's rage over the seeming destruction of a soulless object is nothing short of deeply intriguing, and Sisyphus can't help but find himself oddly, horribly enamored by this. Much to Gabriel's deep misfortune.

Summary
His armor is stained with the blood of those heretics. The headiness of his bloodlust rushes straight to his skull and burrows into his core. He replays the scenes of carnage, over and over, in his mind’s eye. The wide slash that had killed three in one fell swoop, beheading the angel by the fountain, slitting the throat of the one by the south bookshelves. The blood, blood, blood that had poured from every fatal swipe of his swords.
Gabriel's thighs press together, and it only offers him the faintest sense of relief.

Summary
Idolatry is a sin. The faithful Ferryman knows this—yet when he gazes upon the statue of his savior that he so lovingly chiseled, he feels far, far closer to divinity. In the depths of Hell, Gabriel finds the Ferryman carving intimate details into his stone flesh.
(Alternatively: an arrogant angel chooses to encourage his most devout follower’s many sins—including, but not limited to, idolatry.)
