Summary
It's just Jisung and his suitcase, and Minho. Broader and older and more beautiful, leaning against the wall opposite him. The sight of him stops Jisung in his tracks.
It’s Minho, with his marble carved nose and high cheekbones, eyes dark and pretty and trained on him. Minho, with his oversized cardigans, still fond of sweater paws and pastel colours. Minho, with tousled dark hair and rosebud lips and that small shy smile that used to make Jisung stumble over his feet because he couldn’t stop staring.
Minho, who still feels like home even when he shouldn’t, and Jisung, who’s body moves on instinct, running and slamming into him.
It’s calm, quiet. Passersby don’t spare them a glance, airport reunions unworthy of their time. No screaming, no panic, nothing. Just Jisung, his suitcase abandoned behind him, and Minho, who’s hugs still smell like strawberry body wash and drugstore perfume.OR
Jisung and Minho split up years ago, and Jisung has since risen to fame. When everything gets to be too much, he calls the one person he could always rely on.

Chan’s eyebrows furrow, and he sets down his glass. “If you knew there was a truth spell on the wine, then why did you drink it?”
“I don’t have much to hide,” Minho says. “And I’ve always wanted to try this wine.”
Brow still crinkled, Chan continues to stare at Minho. “Who are you?”
“I’m Lee Minho.” He says this with the most deadpan voice he can muster.
Chan snorts. “You know, I asked around about you.”
“Like actually asked around? You didn’t just go on Naver?”
“Naver? What’s—” Chan shakes his head. “Never mind that. They said that you run the best magic shop in the city, that you’re smart and reliable, but that you’re also hard to predict.”
“We also ship worldwide,” Minho adds.
Minho captures the interest of the king of demons. He's not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

“Do you have trouble sleeping, hyung?” he asked, worry seeping into his tone.
Chan startled, shocked to see he had forgotten all about the bottle of sleeping pills sitting right in the middle of his living room. “Ah— yeah, sometimes,” he replied, handing one of the mugs to the younger man who accepted it gratefully, wrapping his fingers around the ceramic to warm them up after having been outside all afternoon.
“Be careful with those, hyung,” he said, taking a sip of his hot chocolate. “I heard it’s really easy to overdose with them.”
Guilt welled in his stomach, settling like a rock. “I will, Jisung-ah,” he lied. “Hyung promises.”
OR
Chan is ready to end it all when he— quite literally— bumps into a frantic Jisung who gives him a reason to stick around a bit longer. Before he knows it, Chan has a whole group of people he would die for instead of in spite of.

From closer, it’s clear that Minho is about his age. He’s handsome— very much so— in an untouchable sort of way. Straight nose, sharp eyes, a defined cupid’s bow. He looks sculpted rather than born. Jisung might shrink under the weight of his presence if the situation were different.
Knowing that Minho is dying ruins the illusion of perfection.
Jisung answers an ad online reading: "I'm going to die, but there's a lot of things I haven't done yet that I don't want to do alone."

Three weeks before Henry Fox's tour for his fourth, highly anticipated, awards-bait novel A Brief War in December begins, his publicist Janella breaks her foot on a bunny slope at Windham.
Alex can't be mad at her, even though he kind of is. Saying it out loud would be like kicking her when she was down, and she already went down a literal mountain in the worst way possible.
Now crammed in Rafael Luna's corner office, Janella is shooting Alex extremely apologetic looks while slumped on her crutches, wearing a bright orange cast. The conversation about who is going to be joining Henry Fox on his multi-city trek across the U.S. is also going downhill. Alex is feeling the same sort of free fall while standing still.
Because out of all the publicists available in their tiny underfunded department, the only one left to escort their company's best-selling author is regrettably him.
The problem is, well, Alex absolutely hates Henry Fox.
Or: Alex is the publicist for Mountchristen Publishers, and is stuck on a two-week tour with their best-selling, but frustrating, author Henry Fox.
