Summary
After their dad abandons the family and their mom is killed in a car crash, fourteen year old Chris is essentially orphaned and put into the custody of his twenty-two year old brother, who has become more and more estranged from them since leaving home. Martin, his head spinning with grief and guilt from knowing now that the estrangement can never be reconciled, has to collect the little brother he’s barely seen in four years, who has turned into an angsty, wayward, heroin-addicted teenager freshly raw with his own grief.

"It's about An isn't it?"
Kohane startles, turning pink and looking at him in absolute shock as if he hadn't made the most basic observation in existence.
"Y-you know!?" She breathes, hands to her face.
Akito raises an eyebrow, rolling his shoulders as he thinks of how Kohane had practically leaped out of An's arms like a wet bar of soap earlier that day. He crosses his arms.
"You actually flinched whenever An got close to you." He places his hands on his knees, trying to reinitiate uncomfortably intense eye contact with her. "Haven't seen you do that since the haircut."
Tldr: Kohane acts off. Akito confronts her and finds himself horredously unprepared for what follows.

If someone were to ask Kohane about jealousy, she’d reply that it’s really too harsh an idea.
Now, don’t get her wrong, to desire something someone else owns is not in of itself an unforgivable notion, however, the negative action that is typically associated, such as indirect sabotage, petty behavior, or harsh remarks, are just not things that she is all too fond of in general.
Alternate summary: This, is what we call in the buisness… ironic foreshadowing.

He leans back, looking meaningfully at Toya as well. “S’not that damn hard, I’m sure you two can manage that.”
