Summary
The thing about resets is that nobody else remembers them. That's the whole joke. That's the punchline Sans has been living inside for longer than he can count, longer than makes sense to count, because counting implies there's a number at the end of it and there isn't, there's just more.
He's getting tired of it in a way that isn't tired exactly. It's structural. Like a building that's been through one too many earthquakes, still standing, technically, but something in the foundation has given up pretending it's fine.
He notices it first in his hands. Static, just a flicker, like a bad signal on an old TV. He's sitting at his sentry station outside the ruins, head tipped back against the wood, and his phalanges go translucent for a second. He can see the snow through them. Then they're back, solid bone, yellow-white, completely normal, and he almost convinces himself he imagined it.
