Buggy was always just a clown. Loud, flashy, bright, an emptiness of a scared child that had seen war, hidden beneath the make up. Explosions, theatrics, to fill the silence he still has nightmares from. The silence of death collecting souls after a war, crying over the lost souls. He searched for peace in the East Blue, letting people think that he was weak, pathetic really. How he ended up on the Grand Line again, bullshitting his way to the title of a Yonko (he could hear the red bastard's laugh from across the sea and for once he couldn't blame him) and now on a battle field, having just taken a deadly hit, that was meant for Monkey D. Luffy, he truly didn't know.

In Sabaody, Kuma is too slow to send Luffy away as well and the Strawhat Captain is slated for execution alongside Firefist Ace when news of his parentage breaks out. Unfortunately for the World Government, they had failed to take into consideration exactly who would be willing to raise hell in order to save his life.
