Jaskier is the fourth son of the minor noble house of Pankratz. He has always wanted to leave Lettenhove to explore, but is limited by the expectations that come with his station. When his parents betroth him to a Duke, he thinks it might be his chance to see the world, and let the world see him, and hear his music.
He sets out on a sea voyage to meet his new husband, but before he ever arrives, the vessel is set upon by pirates. Captain Rience has reasons to leave Jaskier as the sole survivor, and none of them are good.
The thing Rience has forgotten, the only thing pirates have to fear on the high seas.....are other pirates.

John is hurt and angry at being led on, and Sherlock is confused: he’d hired an escort because he didn’t know much about sex and he just wanted to be good for John before taking their relationship to the next level.
