Summary
Kon is supposed to be finding his passion, or following his dreams, or whatever it is that people are supposed to get to do when they don’t have to worry about working a job they hate just to make ends meet. He should be going to college, or traveling, or trying to find a job that he’d actually enjoy, or—something.
But he isn’t.
He can’t say why. Not really. He’s not really that introspective, he just knows that every reason he has to offer for not doing literally anything with his life tastes like an excuse, bitter and tacky and heavy with shame. Which, technically he’s not doing nothing—he’s still a Titan, still helps save the world on the regular, but… he’s been doing that for literally his entire life.
Life is more than just superheroing. Kon’s team, Ma and Pa, the other Kents, and even various other capes had helped him learn that. He knows that he’s not a programmed machine, that he’s a person who gets to choose what he wants to make of himself.
And yet…
It’s just—
He’s always so cold.

Onscreen, the reporter does the typical introduction spiel, then turns to the party crasher. “You and your associates have been remarkably candid about who you are while you’ve crashed galas all over the tri-state area tonight, but would you introduce yourselves one more time, this time for the record?”
The party crasher grins, bright and mischievous, but there’s a glint in his eyes that makes some part of Bruce think predator. “Sure thing! I’m Jason Todd-Wayne, and me and the others are Bruce Wayne’s gaggle of bastard children.”
Bruce chokes.
