Summary
Will Byers had left Hawkins years ago, but he had never really left the Upside Down behind.
Not the nightmares. Not the connection. Not the power.
So when Jonathan dragged him back after Jane disappeared and Mike became trapped inside a mindscape no one else could enter, Will already knew he was the only person capable of surviving what waited beneath Hawkins.
He just did not expect Vecna to be waiting for him too.
Henry Creel was cruel, infuriating, and far too good at seeing through him, peeling apart every lie Will told himself about wanting a normal life when the truth was much uglier: part of Will missed the power the Upside Down had given him. Missed having it.
Now forced into an uneasy alliance with the monster he had sworn to hate, Will found himself pulled deeper into the dark again, where every fight with Henry felt more personal than the last and every step closer to saving Mike and Jane pushed him further away from the person he used to be.

I know where you live. :)
no you don’t leave me alone
Ilya clicked out of the conversation, knowing it brought him some ease that he said something. That was until he saw the account had replied back within seconds. All of the blood drained from his face. He felt cold all of a sudden, a shiver ran down his spine and the hairs on the back of his neck stood up instinctively. He stared down at his phone in horror, his hands now shaking.
I’m your biggest fan and you should be scared. :)

Summary
It wasn’t enough. He smoked it down, lit another from the butt of the first. Then another. He chain-smoked three cigarettes in rapid succession, leaning against the railing, watching the smoke get torn to nothing by the wind. The nicotine hit him like a wave - dizzying, calming, sickening.
He looked at the fourth cigarette trembling between his fingers, its tip glowing in the dark. The phrase came to him unbidden, whispered into the frozen night. “I wish I was strong enough to quit you.”
He wasn’t sure if he was talking to the cigarette, to the habit, or to Ilya Rozanov. They were all the same now - a toxic, essential relief.
He smoked the fourth cigarette more slowly, the initial panic subsiding into a numb, smoky haze. The craving was sated, for now. The ache for Ilya was not.
or: Ilya never asked Shane for his hotel number and generally doesn't really mind Shane all that much. While Shane is having existential crisis every time he sees Ilya. PINING Shane and oblivious Ilya.
(Shane adopting an addiction of smoking, even, if it genuinely makes him gag, just because it reminds him of Ilya)Bookmarked by Randomreader364

Summary
In 2022, Ilya wakes up in a hospital in Ottawa with no memory of how he got there. He has hazy recollections of 2015, but he can't remember anything about the past seven years. He is shocked to learn he is now married to Shane Hollander, a fact that forces him to reconcile the decisions of his past self with the expectations he inherited from his father.
--“I have this for you.” Hollander reached into his pocket, pulling out something gold, glinting under the cold hospital lighting. Holding his fist out, Hollander unfurled his hand, and the bottom fell out of Ilya’s heart, cratering through his stomach and spilling onto the floor.
Shane Hollander stood before him, palm outstretched, cradling Irina Rozanova’s golden crucifix.
Ilya flinched back, like he had been burned. Hollander’s warmth had moved too close, too fast, morphing into a threat and a violation. Hollander should not have that cross.

Summary
“We all get our bell rung eventually, right?”
When Ilya Rozanov wakes up in the hospital, he doesn’t know how he got there. He doesn’t know it’s 2019, his second season as captain of the Ottawa Centaurs. He doesn’t know he got hurt defending Shane Hollander on the ice.
All he knows is that he must have hit his head really, really, hard, because when he wakes up, there are three Hollanders looking at him with love in their eyes and concern on their faces.
This is especially confusing since the last time Ilya Rozanov remembers seeing Shane Hollander was at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
