Now I don’t think that’s true, because technically I didn’t drag Sloane into any of this. But, she’s my best friend of 2 years at this point and she has made it her own personal mission to make sure my heart keeps beating, and if that means dragging herself (more like letting me drive her because she somehow managed to fail her driving test) to Westview to break into the Agatha Harkness’s house, than that is exactly what she is going to do.

Gods, why can’t my life just be normal for once!
I mean, first, my mum married a horrible and abusive man when I was 2. Then both of them were killed in a freak housefire while I was at school when I was 8.
Then I was adopted and my life in all its horribleness was thrust into the public eye due to my new adoptive father, Bruce Wayne (Yeah, that Bruce Wayne).
Though now being famous wasn't even my biggest problem. The doors of death had closed, and I wasn't on them. Yay!
Though at least Annabeth had made it out. Now I just have to figure out how to survive down here. This should be fun.

Athena’s eyes flash and glow, and she raises her hands. Annabeth closes her eyes, and everything in the air sizzles to a stop. There is a faint sea breeze, and then a familiar presence at her side.
“It would be unwise of you to hurt her.”
She opens her eyes to her boyfriend’s dad standing behind her, his eyes intent on her mother, who looks like she’s about to blow her top. Annabeth doesn’t breathe, doesn’t look away from Athena, but she takes several quick steps back to stand at Poseidon’s side. It’s not conscious; it’s a move based purely on self-preservation. Still, Annabeth is aware that every step she takes into the sea increases her mother’s ire and decreases the likelihood that Annabeth will ever be forgiven.
