He gazed out the window and looked down at the bustling streets. Watching the sea of black umbrellas.
Beside him, Ximena lit a candle on cupcake she had managed to smuggle in for him. The only sign of warmth in an otherwise cold and unforgiving world.
“Make a wish.” She said with a soft smile.
He held the cupcake in his hands and blew.
