When their eyes meet, there is a brief moment of oppressive silence, as if they are under pressure. Hermione isn't sure if he's looking directly into her eyes since her vision tragically fails her at the most critical moment. She lowers her gaze to his shoulder, to the ripped fabric of his shirt, splattered with blood and something else...
Something inside Hermione starts to crumble, whether it's a corset made of ribs or a dried-up heart drained of blood, she's not sure.
She pays little attention to the blood on his shoulder, casting a foggy glance at the elongated head of the tattooed dragon.

He got out of bed and wrapped himself in his robe. The taps came again as he descended the stairs. They were more audible now, but no more urgent. He opened the front door. Will looked past him, eyes blank and unaware. He wore striped boxers and a T-shirt with a hole in the shoulder. He was shivering. His car was parked in Hannibal's driveway, but the door was still open, the motor still running.

“Do you want to kiss me?” Hannibal asks, careful.“The way I -- feel about you isn’t,” Will says, his eyes flicker away, Hannibal knows why he was waiting to do this in the dark, “the way I feel about anything else.”
