Tobio almost said no, before he was struck with the very real crisis that the gala was tomorrow, and he was stuck going to his teammates for help. If it wasn’t Hinata, who would he choose, Bokuto? He shuddered.

“Then you’re hired,” Tobio said, and he wanted to feel relieved, but all he felt was a strange buzzing underneath his skin. Something between horror and anticipation.

Hatsu with the telling name Hanahaki, "suffocation from flowers", allows to turn one's feelings into flowers. Hatred comes out with poison: oleander, belladonna and water hemlock, poisoning anyone even before the full suffocation. Anger comes out with thorns: black roses and "crown of thorns", tearing the throat from the inside.

Later, once he’s put a healthy distance between himself and those specific sand dunes, he’ll recall impressions of bright hair and black estigma and a hole in the center of the fucking vasto lorde’s chest.
The whole affair only gets more confusing afterward, when the damn thing keeps trying to feed him.
