'Lena is struck by how perfectly, cheesily Hallmark this image is; a beautiful blonde, playing in the snow, red-faced and grinning beneath an obviously homemade knit hat. Her glasses are nowhere to be found, probably tossed somewhere in the struggle, and her eyes are so damned blue they put the sky above to shame. Lena doesn’t realize she’s been staring until Kara is standing directly in front of her, crouched so she can meet Lena’s eyes, concern knitting her brow. “Are you alright? You kinda zoned out, there.” She presses the back of a warm hand to Lena’s forehead, which, honestly, does not help Lena compose herself.'
Lena gets into an accident, and Kara saves her life. As one does.
But when Cadmus starts gunning for Lena, she finds herself stuck with the extended Danvers-Kent-Lane-Schott-Olsen family for the holidays.
She supposes, though, that she'll have to make the best of it.(You do NOT need to read Maggie Sawyer's Guide before reading this, but I highly recommend it because the context makes the dynamics better and the jokes funnier.)

Maggie’s surprised, to say the least. This is the rookie who’d smashed all sorts of fitness and weapons tests? Is this a joke? Just Sawyer to you, Danvers.” She takes Kara's hand and winces at the strong grip.Maggie's a lot of things; a good cop, a good friend, a firm supporter of her local bar. And also, a total mess after a recent breakup chased her out of GCPD. Enter Kara Danvers; Disney princess wannabe, bottomless pit, amateur radio accompanist, and her new rookie partner. All this would be fine, albeit annoying if not for one tiny little detail-

One is a world-saving alien superhero, the cousin of the Kryptonian her now-incarcerated brother tried to kill. The other is an elusive genius astro-particle physicist publishing under a pseudonym, who Lena is desperate to track down.
She has massive crushes on both of them. (And Cat Grant can’t resist meddling.)
