Summary
Being in your thirties, one was told that was when your life truly started. Being thirty and watching the entire world burn and crumble while monsters ran rampant through the country? Well, that didn’t feel like starting your life, but rather watching as others ended.
(Y/N) and Jordan were friends for nearly three decades. They’ve shared history, inside jokes, and now a hammer covered in more brains than rust. In the middle of a small family vacation (generously paid by Jordan’s sponsorship) to a convention down in Texas, the world decides to throw a rather large wrench into their plans. Cindy, as odd as the name is to her fellow dwarrow, is easily welcomed into Ered Luin and does her best to not give away that she is not from their world. Oddly enough, Mahal favors her enough that she ends up befriending or meeting many of Thorin Oakenshields Company, for better or for worse, and its there that their fates intertwine and form a new path for them to follow.

Steve has never won a fight. He’s had his ass kicked left, right, and center. Hell, Johnathan has kicked his ass. Steve can bat a monster, but when it comes to people? Steve Harrington has never really won a fight.
But that’s because he’s getting put in the wrong kinds of fights. They think he’s a hammer, when really, anyone who grew up BFFs with Carol becomes a scalpel.
(Dustin gapes like a fish. “Holy shit, dude…” Steve would chide language if he thought it would do anything. “You just performed real life Vicious Mockery. I think that guy took psychic damage!”)

Post presentation, Steve has yet to go into heat. The enormous weight of his parents’ expectations, Upside Down flavored night terrors, and the crippling void of loneliness—he’s only just beginning to unravel—don’t help this.
At the behest of Dr. Owens, Steve enlists the help of one Eddie Munson, newly souped up alpha riding high on demo-venom, to help him out.
He just hopes he doesn’t embarrass himself too much when Eddie’s addicting scent finally gets the slick to pour.

Then all of a sudden the moments slow down, filtering through his mind like the sand in an hourglass, and when he blinks he’s got Hargrove pinned up against the brick with his fists.
Hargrove is momentarily too stunned to do anything about it. He’s still got a cigarette dangling from his mouth. He is also sporting a hell of a shiner, which makes something like satisfaction coil up like a snake in Eddie’s belly.
Apparently Steve doesn’t pull his punches, either.
“The fuck did you do to Harrington?” Eddie asks, his voice so low it’s practically a growl.
