    Jim Kirk awakens to find himself very much alive.
    His last memory is of what he was sure were his final moments as radiation seeped into his pores and took his life, his hand slipping away from Spock's as millimeters of glass separated them.
    But due to Spock's efforts as well as those of the rest of his crew, they were able to revive him using the very blood of the man who had inadvertently killed him in the first place.
    Now that he has faced death and been given another chance, Jim decides to face many things he had previously decided to avoid.
    Namely, defining his feelings for his first officer - Spock.
    Before, he was content to leave things as they were, but now, with the image of his hand falling away from the vulcan's forever burned in his mind, he can't stand to do nothing.
