    You're pretty good at reading people, and you don't sense hostility from this guy, but the anonymity of not being able to see his face is intimidating you. When he gets close to you, you cower, holding the book in front of your face defensively.

    "You thought a book was going to hurt me?" he speaks, the sound low and gruff, lower than natural standards, and you're sure there's a voice modulator in his helmet.

    With a wince, you peek at him from behind the book, nodding slowly. "I guess I didn't really.. think it through."

     

    Or, your soulmate dies young. You don’t expect to see him again, but the universe had other plans.
