Summary
“Oh, darling.” Though Alastor’s voice was all insincere condescension, the endearment still made his stomach twist. “Do you think you deserve this? No, no, not yet.”
The groan that escaped him then was desperate, pathetic, just like Alastor had said. And the worst part was that Vox had let this happen; had let himself be coaxed into this position and it was the potent mixture of bitterness and lust that meant he was allowing it to continue. But though Alastor might be able to see through him, he could hardly have forgotten that Vox knew him, too. Knew his smiles, the fake and the genuine. Knew the micro expressions in his eyes that he really couldn't hide as well as he thought. And Alastor was enjoying this.
Vox was always watching Alastor. Sometimes Alastor even let him.

Summary
“It’s been three years, you asshole!” was the first thing Vox said. He sounded— it was hard to say, really. Furious, hurt, relieved. A far cry from the charming composure of his on-screen demeanor. Then the second: “What the fuck is wrong with you?”
Alastor found himself frozen, overly self-conscious of the way his ears lay pinned back in a way neither of them could miss, broadcasting his discomfort in that very primal way he despised. At least his smile was still in place, albeit tight and closed-mouthed, straining over the grimace of his teeth.
“Hello, Vox,” he said stiffly, taking another sip of whiskey just to have something to occupy himself with. “I suppose it’s been a while.”

Summary
Alastor let out a pleased hum and gazed at Vox with a slowly unfurling smile; he could be gracious in his victory, and Vox had already as good as lost.
“You goddamn cheat,” Vox said, and the distorted buzz as his breathless voice caught was immensely satisfying. “But,” he swallowed and seemed to gather himself again, though his smile was a fritzing, inconstant thing, slightly rueful. “I guess I should say congratulations.”
“Whatever for?” Alastor asked lazily, tugging Vox slowly, insistently back towards himself; when he brought his knee in, Vox followed - the grip on his foot had only loosened slightly, and seemed to regain confidence as Alastor raised an eyebrow. “Surely you don't think we're done here, Vox, I never took you to be such a quitter!”
It was just a game - and one that Alastor intended to win.
The first chapter is the complete fic in Alastor's POV. The second chapter will be the same events from Vox's POV.
