Ilya grumbled before finally turning around, digging his face into the space between the sheets and Shane’s shoulder. “Go to sleep, Shane.”
“I just…Do you think we would have dated if we were a normal couple?” Shane added on, very much not asleep.
“It’s just sometimes I think about how much time we wasted, I wasted, all those years. And I know we’re married now, but I can’t go back and change things. And even if I did, how would it work? Let’s say we were just normal people. How would we even meet? Would we go out on dates? Do you want to go out on more dates? I know I get nervous doing things in public sometimes, but I’m really trying-”
Ilya rolled over so he was now fully draped over Shane, cupping his face between his hands. Even in the dark, Ilya could see the wetness that shone in his eyes. “Shane. Moya lyubov. I do not have any regrets. Is true, we both made mistakes for many years, but we are together now. And we have the rest of our lives together, yes?”
