The Endless Abyss is no place for a disciple, I’m taking you back with us.” Shang Qinghua settles on, squaring his shoulders and hoping the imperial stubbornness he’s trying to give off is enough to clue his king into his plan, as well as hopefully hold what little power he has over Luo Binghe’s head—“I’m not going with him.” The protagonist spits, his voice all venom and fury, despite the fact he looks more like a wet angry kitten, defeated and battered. Fuck, when he was writing the treacherous Endless Abyss and Binghe’s horrible transformation, he never expected an actual teenager to go through it all.
He doesn’t look stronger, he just looks… traumatized.Or, the one where Shang Qinghua runs into Luo Binghe mid-abyss hell times, and the System isn't responding so fuck it, he can't just leave him there! (Kind of a fix it? Very self-satisfaction-y, someone please take care of this friggin kid)

Or, cats purr when they feel happy and safe or are in pain and need to self-soothe. Vash does the same. But Vash doesn’t have many moments where he feels happy and safe, so Wolfwood and Meryl only ever hear him purr when he’s injured or hurting. The first time they hear him purr from happiness, they panic.
