Summary
In another universe, a much darker version of Batman has been holding Superman captive for a year.
In this one, Bruce was only planning to neutralize an interdimensional threat. He didn’t plan on a rescue mission. He didn’t plan to take home a hurt, broken captive who may or may not be a version of the Clark Kent he knows. But now that he has, he needs to figure out what to do with him without putting the whole planet at risk.
It takes Clark a while to realize he hasn’t just traded one abuser for another, more dangerous one.

Summary
Clark is happy.
He’s a part of the world and helping it. He’s surrounded by friends and loved ones. And he’s learning more about himself every day. He was truly happy for once in his life, in a way that was fleeting after his powers started coming in.
Clark wouldn’t ask for more, but he can’t deny he still feels alone in the universe.
But the choice to change that is not a choice he’s given. His choice, as always, comes after the fall.

“There he is,” Bernard said. “You flying in all dramatic just for us?”
“Maybe,” Kon said, rubbing the back of his neck.
“Aw, he’s shy tonight,” Bernard teased, standing up and padding over. “Don’t worry, we’ll ruin that soon enough.”
Tim snorted behind him, and Kon blinked because—okay—maybe he wasn’t the only one who was nervous. There was a charge in the air now. Something unspoken.
They were all aware of what tonight meant.
Bernard got close enough to rest a hand on Kon’s chest, just lightly. Like he was checking to see if Kon was real, or maybe just giving him the chance to pull back if he needed to. He didn’t.
“Seriously,” Bernard said, a little softer now. “We figured we’d talk about what everyone’s comfortable with. What’s on the table. What’s not. And then—” he smiled, eyes flicking between Kon and Tim, “—we get to the fun.”
Kon nodded. His mouth was dry, but not from fear. Just anticipation.
“Cool,” he said. “Let’s talk.”
Or 25k words of Kon freaking out over his biology being different and Bernard and Tim being stupidly chill.
