Summary
Alex has always made it a point to mind his own business. He wakes up, works out, heads to the beach, or helps out around the house, then goes to bed. Rinse and repeat, adding the occasional two-hour phone call from Haley updating him on her summer in Zuzu City. If anyone asks, he won’t be here for much longer, onto bigger and better things, like earning a spot on a professional gridball team.
Sebastian isn’t one to open up to people. He has Sam and Abigail, and that’s more than enough for him, seeing as he won’t be in Pelican Town by this time next year. Or, that’s what he tells himself each time someone interrupts his work or makes band practice run later than it needs to. He’s alone, happy, and has no plans to change that.
Until the night Alex catches sight of a light coming from inside the abandoned Community Center, and Sebastian is just crossed enough to let his mind run away with itself.

Summary
"I came," Burakh says, eyes bright and honest as they meet Daniil's, "because you asked."
Intense, Daniil thinks, unbidden—his piercing gaze, his rumbling voice. As if he doesn't know how to be any other way.
"And," Daniil drawls as he steps forward, suddenly emboldened, "does a Warden of the Kin go wherever he's beckoned?"
"No. But a surgeon might, for a colleague." Straightforward, simple, with little hesitation. Burakh looks at Daniil as he moves closer, but doesn't pull away. Then Burakh falters—a rare sight, in the time Daniil's known him—before he continues, quieter than before. "Or a man might, for a friend."
On Day 12, on the cusp of his defeat, the Bachelor asks for one final favor.

Summary
Daniil was ogling. Again. He felt his mouth agape at the scene. How could he not? Artemy and Rubin stuck out against the dark tiles of the roof, practically seducing his gaze away from his nondescript path. But although, at a quick glance, Rubin had a fair physique that can easily be the envy of any Capital man, Daniil’s eyes were solely a slave to Artemy’s form.
---
Artemy is the perfect lover and Daniil feels guilty for, in other words, feeling a lack of satisfaction.

Summary
“I don’t know if you’ve used my mirror, but you haven’t gotten any prettier in the past hour, Burakh,” Dankovsky says, sounding strained. “Stay and get your rest, or I’ll have to contend with having you on my conscience when they inevitably mug you on the street—”
“You might need to lower your expectations,” Artemy interrupts. “This is how I look. And your mirror is in pieces, by the way, have you not noticed smashing it?”
Daniil smiles—it’s not a pleasant smile by far. “Stay,” he instructs, almost condescendingly. “And take your rest.”
Well, two can play this game.
Artemy parries back, “And what about you?”
[Or: one night at Stillwater; glimpsed from two different mirror-sides.]
