Summary
To Victim, pain was a way of living.
The constant abuse, torture, all of the pain— Whether it was physical, or mental — It was all the usual.
Despite it being unpleasant, despite it hurting a lot, despite Victim hating it so much.. It was, undeniably, what Victim was used to.
So, you couldn't really blame him for hating the way everything was being kind to him now.
Or: Victim struggles to accept that everything will be okay, and he struggles to get used to everything being okay.
