Fiyero really needs to learn to proofread his texts before he sends them.
Because now, thanks to the joys of autocorrect, Fiyero's family is somehow under the impression that he's dating Elphaba, and worse, they're expecting her to join him in the Vinkus for Lurlinemas.
Because Elphaba is a great friend, she agrees to go along with the ruse.
It's just like something out of those cheesy, sappy Lurlinemas movies on the Quillark channel that Galinda loves- a couple pretend to be in love. Except those ones always end with the couple falling in love for real. And there's no way that's ever going to happen.

Summary
Twelve years ago, the Vinkus rose up and defied the Wizard’s rule. Their rebellion was put down swiftly and violently to serve as an example for the rest of Oz. In the chaos, the king and queen were killed, and their young son vanished, though everyone with a lick of sense presumed he had died as well.
Now, Elphaba Thropp has just defied the Wizard herself, and she’s turned her broom westward, hoping to find the sparks of a new revolution where the last one failed. Instead, she finds even more trouble when she becomes entangled with a motley band of thieves and their reckless, cavalier, and maddeningly handsome leader whose wanted posters all call him “the Scarecrow.”
