Summary
Years after the Kira case is over and done with, Near is building a life with a boy in New York. He is haunted, endlessly, by that night in the warehouse. The situation is very nearly stable when Misa Amane moves into the city.
He saved her. He hadn’t saved Light and he hadn’t saved Mikami — he’d wanted to, he really had, he hadn’t wanted to be made an executioner — but he’d saved Misa. Or at least he’d done the closest thing he could. Mello is dead and Matt is dead and Watari is dead and L is dead but Misa is alive and she’s not just a symbol. She’s a real girl. She brushes her hair and she has favourite bands and she worries if she’s good enough, wonders if her life is liable to come to anything. He has no proof of this, but she must. Those are the sorts of things that living people do.

Summary
Since the night they burnt L, Light has been having a dream which bleeds into his waking life. In this dream, he opens his bedroom door to find a long tunnel that goes down and down and down; in his dream, L calls to him from beyond the grave, all the way from Yomi, and begs Light to bring him home.
Based (roughly) off the Shinto story of Izanagi's journey into the afterlife to bring his wife back to the land of the living.
His voice is soft. He says, “You left him so long, and he got so hungry, and you know once the dead eat from the bounty of Yomi they belong to it for forever and always, but you can have him anyway.”

Summary
In which L and Light are mid-tier Kpop idols.
Ryuzaki was a problem, always. He was probably the biggest problem in Light’s life. He was always fretting over Light, always getting in his space, always slipping in little asides in Japanese so the others wouldn’t understand. Light dreamed of him sometimes, of his long hair falling all over his face, his slightly crooked teeth, the ever-present dark circles beneath his eyes. Taken piece by piece he should have been ugly but in tandem he was pretty as a crow spreading its heavy black wings.
