Hermione Granger is frantically trying to make it home in time to prepare a Valentine's dinner capable of saving her failing relationship with Ron Weasley. She has far too much to do and certainly does not have time to allow herself to contemplate if they are actually compatible or if they're only together because that's what everyone else expects.
Except she is just so hot. Burning up. To the point where she can't even think straight. And there's an almost painful ache building at her core.
She's sure she's a Beta...up until she isn't.
When Draco and Ron find her in a state of weak desperation thanks to her very first heat, Ron, a Beta, realises he's not up for the task and asks his best friend and Auror partner, who is also an Alpha, to step up and take care of her.
