Summary
Harry Potter escaped the Dementors at the end of his third year. He saved his godfather. He saved a goddamned hippogriff. But for the first time, he couldn't save everyone.
Someone died who wasn't supposed to die, and it's all the Author's fault. The Author messed up, you see. Their Story is projected on a world, and it can only change so much about how that world works.
Cracks have appeared in the Narrator's control for the first time. It still controls Harry's every move, but the settings, the context, its hold there is weakening, and more and more people are going off script as changes accumulate. Harry and Riddle have been given an inch. How far they can make it stretch remains to be seen. More importantly, they've been given hope. It came at a high price, but they know now that the Author can mess up.
And seeing as the Author doesn't really seem to know anything about the world they're influencing, it's probably only a matter of time until they mess up again.

Summary
What happens when a Chaotic Evil boy becomes a Lawful Good girl?
When cheerleaders Brittany and Tiffany try to join their high school's D&D club, the DM calls them fake gamers trying to ruin the game with their liberal agenda. Club member Corbin Kelly quits that table to join a new one run by Brittany. After all, why wouldn't he prefer playing with hot chicks over sweaty dudes? When Brittany has Corbin actually write a backstory for the Chaotic Evil murderhobo rogue he always plays, he's a little taken aback, but he's willing to go along with it if it means getting to hang out with cheerleaders every week. Brittany turns out to be a way better DM than the last guy ever was—and when the group hits high level, she even decides to run the legendary Tomb of Horrors module for them. Corbin is psyched to experience gamer history—at least, until Brittany turns his beloved character into a girl! Now he's starting to wonder if his old DM might've been right... and why Tiffany keeps having her paladin flirt with his character now?!

Summary
Harry Potter escaped the Chamber of Secrets at the end of his second year. He killed the monster, a fifty-foot long, incredibly deadly snake. He saved the girl, his best mate's baby sister. Of course he did, he's the hero of the story, he didn't have a choice. Literally.
The Narrator still controls Harry's every move, at least whenever anything important is happening. As it turns out, Tom Riddle isn't dead, the bloke is like a bloody cockroach, and he's determined to use Harry to figure out what the hell is going on with the Story and make it stop. Which Harry doesn't actually disagree with in principle, being the hero of the story is almost as bad as being the villain, but the last thing he needs is more voices in his bloody head.
On the plus side, at least Tom can make the Dursleys lay off him for once.
Silver linings, right?
