Summary
Who knows how long Lena was tortured before—God knows how—Kara got an inkling and went to check on her. Since Lena hadn’t called Kara’s name, the thugs were fairly unprepared for the entry of a super-fast alien with fire in her eyes and ice in her breath. It was a matter of minutes and a whole lot of punching before three of the four men were tied up with the same rope that left marks Lena was still sporting. The fourth man—the one doing the “torturing”—is currently in the ICU. Kara later debriefed the DEO, explaining that what she did was in self-defence, and pointed to the kryptonite bullet scar—now quickly fading—in her right shoulder. Lena was taken to the DEO medbay, where she stayed for a total of three hours and twelve minutes. The moment Kara came by to check on her, Lena snatched her medical records that Brainy had printed to be reviewed and fled the scene. Supergirl, in her full red-blue regalia and heroic presence stood there with a slight twinkle in her eyes. The kryptonite had hurt less.

Kara comes back from the Phantom Zone. After the canon Supercorp embrace, Lena leaves the Tower to go back to L-Corp, probably so as not to face Kara. Our superhero can't let that happen.

Summary
So, while tinkering with an alien technology, Alex and Lena cause an explosion. Somehow they swap bodies after that.
Kara is Solar-flared.
When Lena wakes up in Alex's body, Alex asks her to keep this a secret from Kara for a little longer so that she can go ahead and finish a mission without Kara tagging along.
Alex (in Lena's body) gets kidnapped by Lex and chaos ensues. -

Summary
This wasn’t supposed to be her story. She wasn’t supposed to be the one who fell first. She should’ve had the upper hand. The control. The distance. All the things she learned in this very house—maybe, probably—to wield like weapons.
But Kara had gotten under her skin. Sweetly. Softly. Like honey. Like flowers growing under your feet. Like something that gets you before you even notice it's there.
And somehow, impossibly, Kara is still here. In the creak of the floors. In the way the light moves across the walls. In the ache behind Lena’s ribs that won’t subside.
How is it that Kara's warmth seems to have followed her all the way here, when it should be a place filled with nothing but resentment and expensive art?

“Happy birthday, Lena! We're so glad you're a part of our lives!” Nia says, her eyes bright, her voice full of that effortless kindness Lena both envies and adores. The others follow with hugs, gifts, laughter that fills the space like sunlight.
It’s lovely. It’s everything birthdays are supposed to be. And yet, the longer she stands there, the heavier her smile feels.
Because Kara isn’t there.
Her gaze keeps flicking toward the elevator, toward the sound of the boots landing on the balcony, toward anything that might mean Kara’s on her way. But every minute stretches into another reminder that she isn’t.
Lena hates herself for the disappointment. Hates the way she can’t seem to stop caring. Hates that she doesn’t even understand why this feels like rejection, or why this feels like heartbreak.
