As a marked improvement on the hotel’s early days, when Lucifer had rebuilt it, he'd been sure to include a telephone at the front desk for prospective guests to reach out with any inquiries.
It had mostly sat dormant, the few times it had rung being the result of a wrong number, some kind of marketing scam, or, on one rather memorable occasion – a demon calling specifically to inform Charlie what he might like to do to her.
(That phone call had demonstrated the remarkable capabilities of angelic power, for when Lucifer had walked in and seen his daughter red faced and almost in tears, he’d snatched the receiver from her hand, growled a threat down the line with all the demonic vocal talents his being the Devil granted him – and the call had gone dead. Now, Alastor couldn’t know for certain, but he was fairly confident that was because the caller had also done as much.)
