Noelle’s gaze shot up from her phone and outside her window. Perched on the tree branch outside, like a very furry bird, was Catti, dressed in black pajamas with stars on them. She even had her hairnet on.
Noelle wiped the tears on her cheeks away and rushed over to open the window and, on all fours, Catti smoothly hopped over and squeezed her way through the gap, before standing again and brushing autumn leaves off her pajamas and fur.
“Sleepover,” she announced.
“You’re not going to take no for an answer, are you,” Noelle sighed.
Catti smiled mischeviously. “No.”
