She could have been relaxing on her stupid couch, wrapped up in her new blanket while watching Battlestar Galactica in the comfort of her home. But no! NO! Lily had to be freaking LIVING in the damn show! Lily thought to herself as she stared at the very angry warrior monster trying to get out from under the boulder in order to, no doubt, mutilate her.
Lily Andreu, the linguist on the Bovetoya Expedition, had expected to do nothing more than try and play language diplomat between stubborn old men who didn't speak the same language. So when offered to follow the scientist into the pyramid she leaped at the opportunity. Of course, Lily's luck being what it was, she should have just jumped out of the helicopter on her way here. Because now she was trying to tend to the wounds of a behemoth humanoid killer. All in the hopes her stupid "good deed" would give him enough incentive to let her tag along...and preferably live.

Summary
Jaskier has zero intention of sharing the degrading experience of getting tortured. Ever. He’ll bury the memories and someday they’ll be as scabbed over as Caingorn was.
Which had been completely, absolutely, fine. And the only reason that wound is bleeding a little now is because fucking Geralt came out of nowhere—after the most humiliating experience of his entire life—and reopened the fucking thing. But that’s fine because he’ll leave and return to the terror of his smuggling work and forget about Geralt all over again. There’s nothing hard drink and the constant danger of execution won’t get his mind off. Because there’s something therapeutic about fearing for one’s life that makes anything not of immediate concern go away.
So yes, things were just fine before Geralt showed up.
Two years post-Caingorn, Geralt rescues Jaskier from prison and sends him with Ciri to Kaer Morhen. However, Geralt suspects Jaskier is hiding serious trauma.

Summary
Geralt has lost everything. Vesemir has betrayed him, so he can’t go home. Yennifer has betrayed him and taken Ciri from him. Even Roach is gone. He’s never felt so alone and he yearns for the comfort of Jaskier’s enduring optimism and incessant chatter. He has betrayed Jaskier, however. He cast him aside on a mountain top, lashing out at him with a vicious tirade which the poor man had neither expected nor deserved. He needed Jaskier now more than ever and if anything that bitch Yennifer had said was true, then Jaskier needed him now, too. Even if he won’t stay, Geralt can at least give him the apology that is long overdue. He owes him that much at least but he desperately hopes that he’ll stay by his side, where he has belonged all along, to help him to find his daughter.
I have received quite a lot of interest from artists, hoping to collaborate on a comic book version of this story. Much as I am extremely flattered by this, none of the major characters in this work belong to me and aside from this, I am not in a financial position to commission any works related to this one. Apologies to anyone who may have had this idea in mind - I hope that this doesn't detract from your enjoyment of this fic in any way. x

The guards had dragged Jaskier inside and slammed the heavy oak door shut before he could finish his sentence, but the Witcher had gotten the general idea. The bard thought he was doing this out of hatred and not out of the sincerest, purest love Geralt had ever felt. He thought this was a punishment and not a slightly backwards form of rescue. If only the bard could understand.

Geralt is hired by Jaskier's family to return him home in time for his arranged marriage to another noble. Neither of them can acknowledge their feelings for each other until it's almost too late.
