Summary
Tommy lives with his older brother Dream, who is also a villain. Then Dream gets into a fight with the Sleepy Alliance, also villains, and mentions their missing family member. They get angry, because they were still looking. This ends up in Dream and the Sleepy Alliance all the time, until the Sleepy Alliance sees Tommy and decides he would be a great weapon against Dream.

Tommy is a kid who doesn't keep up with the hero and villain world filled with superpowers. He is just trying to survive, and he had been successful for the past ten years. Then, when the villains attack his district, he accidentally meets them. Instead of running away in fear, Tommy doesn't only not recognise them, but also makes fun of them.
The villains can't just let this go and follow him home.

Tommy is twelve years old and lives in the cabin deep in the woods with his family. He would say his life is great, but there was one bit he wasn't allowed, and he really wanted to get it. It's forbidden and was never explained other than that it's dangerous. It was always away from him.

Summary
In the times Dream lives in prison, he comes up with a plan. He really wanted to get Tommy for his plans, but it would be quite hard because Tommy knew a lot of his tricks and was harder to manipulate. So Dream gets a great idea, he would travel back in time to the first L'Manburg war, where Tommy was young and naive. The twelve-year-old boy would be way easier to sway to Dream's side.
So with the help of some 'friends' and a God, Dream successfully creates a time machine. Going back in time to a timeline where the Independence War was just happening, Dream starts his plan. Wilbur is the President, Tommy is a child. They aren't ready for what Dream got planned.
