Summary
They don’t know exactly what it is. As far as they know—as far as Celine taught them, anyway—demons don’t exactly need to reproduce. Sure, they can, but that’s usually a personal choice more than a biological imperative. Their working theory is that what Rumi’s going through isn’t so much heat as much as it is a flare-up—human instinct amplified by her demonic nature. It usually goes away on its own, but riding it out on her own is—well, not great, to say the least.
Which is why Zoey and Mira go out of their way to make sure that Rumi’s always supported, always satisfied, and most importantly, not alone.

there’s a brief, silent pause in which rumi and jinu stare at each other with what feels like the weight of the world on their shoulders. jinu eventually breaks first.
“oh my god,” he breathes out the breath he didn’t even realise he was holding harshly before smothering his face into his hands.
“what?” rumi snaps defensively, her brows tightening into a tiny, self-conscious frown.
“nothing,” he sighs, dragging his hands down his face. “i just can’t believe that your problem is two of the hottest women on campus wanting to cuddle with you after sex.”

Rumi whined again. Zoey grinned as Mira chuckled against the older woman’s skin, all liquid pleasure. “I don’t think she likes being the decision maker” Mira said, voice a little muffled from its place against Rumi’s shoulder. Rumi swallowed thickly and her throat bobbed in the most appealing way. Zoey’s grin widened.
“Well then, we can oblige that as well.”
