Summary
Jason loved Shakespeare.
But Shakespeare wasn’t meant to just be read. Theatre was meant to be performed, seen, experienced, and discussed with others.
So, when Gotham Academy announced they would be putting on Macbeth as the fall stage play for his freshman year, Jason had wistfully wished he could participate. But with his night-time extracurriculars... he just couldn’t really commit to being a performer.
At least until a last minute accident finds Jason center stage.

Dick froze—every argument, every accusation thrown between the two running through his mind. He wasn’t sure if he could take it—to hear it spoken truthfully and directly. Hearing all of Bruce’s hatred, contempt, and disappointment in him poured out not just in a heated yelling match in the cave but in front of Damian, in front of the whole world.
Bruce coughed, blood flicking from his lips from a failed attempt to bite his tongue, and Dick hung his head in resignation. It was at least nice to know Bruce wasn’t eager to dump out his true feelings.
“His suit.” Bruce choked, and the room went silent.
AKA: This is just a fun little thing. Bruce loves his kids so much

Summary
Bruce is… not the best patient. He'll admit it. He'd probably be a better patient if he had more patience, as Alfred likes to say, but… He hates feeling useless. Hates feeling like his body has betrayed him.
So being injured is something that puts him in a bad mood, makes him moody and miserable to be around. He knows it, and he accepts it about himself. He's been this way since he first started as Batman, even before Dick came around.
However… the situation has… changed.

“The Red Hood has been good for Gotham,” Robin continued. “Crime in Park Row decreased by sixty one percent almost as soon as you showed up, and that’s even taking into account all the crime you commit. Drug overdoses have decreased by twenty two percent in adults and seventy nine percent in minors. Homeless minors are ninety two percent less likely to—”
“Kid,” Jason interrupted. “Enough statistics. What the hell is this about?”
Robin slowly lowered the tablet with his powerpoint presentation and looked up at Red Hood.
“You care about Gotham,” Robin summarised. “Gotham needs Batman. Batman is missing and so is Nightwing. We need you to fill in for Batman.”
“You want me to cover Batman’s patrols?” Jason clarified.
“No,” Robin said. “I want you to be Batman.”
Jason bluescreened.
(Or: Batman and Nightwing mysteriously disappear before Red Hood has even started antagonising them, Robin is desperate, Gotham needs Batman, and Red Hood is Batman-Shaped.)

It's almost impressive that she made a miscalculation so severe.

“I’m his favourite.” Selina says through a yawn, sure that her smugness will manage to shine through despite her exhaustion.
“You are not.” Talia scoffs.
“How many cats has he named after you?”
There’s a moment of silence. Selina lets a grin stretch across her face.
“Just you wait.” Talia says, “I will have a legion of cats named after me.”
“Sure you will, love.” Selina manages through overtired giggles.
