“A surprise? Is there an occasion for this surprise? Other than the upcoming… event?” Kyoko asked, her eyes briefly shifting to the calendar, as if the days would go by faster if she kept looking. Makoto gave a slight shrug as he chowed down on pancakes.
“Mm, no, not really. It's more just something I wanted to do.” Makoto replied, glancing down at his plate and pointing his fork at another pancake.
Hm. The usage of the word “something” made Kyoko presume that this surprise of his wasn't a physical object, but some sort of action or event.
“I think you'll appreciate it.” Makoto added before scarfing down another bite of pancake. Kyoko nodded as she took another drink of orange juice.
“I'm sure I will.” She replied, a small smile tugging on the sides of her mouth. She was sure that she was going to be happy with whatever this surprise was. She'd be lying if she said that a surge of anticipation didn't go through her body.
