Summary
“The Prince needs a sworn sword?” Dunk blinked at the two brothers, certain he must have misheard.
“A sworn shield,” Baelor corrected. The distinction seemed to matter.
“The title will be spoken publicly as a reward. A reconciliation. The prince you fought against now honours your valour and accepts that the Gods judged you to be innocent. A tale of chivalry restored, of a dragon gracious in defeat. Songs will smooth the rest.”
“And in truth?” Dunk asked before he could stop himself.
Maekar did not look away. “In truth, you will ensure my son does not forget what that day has cost.”
“You would have me... watch him.”
“I would have you guard him,” Baelor replied at once. “My nephew needs protection; from blades, from poison—"
“—and from himself.” Prince Maekar’s voice followed harder.
Baelor survives his injuries at Ashford and takes charge of the fallout. Determined to cure Aerion’s deepening psychosis, he brings his nephew to King’s Landing to guide him and help him master his darker impulses. Until then, the unstable prince will need guarding, from others as well as himself. Baelor chooses an unlikely protector: The Hedge Knight.

Summary
Dunk looked at him again. The boy was unusually knowledgeable about nobles… it couldn’t hurt to ask.
“Do you know anything about the Targaryens, Egg?”
Egg froze, regarding him cautiously. “… As much as anyone else does, I wager.”
“Do you know anything about Prince Aerion?”
The boy blinked. “Oh. Well… he’s Prince Baelor’s fourth son. And the only omega in the family aside from Prince Maekar, his dam. He’s been fostered at Storm’s End the past twelve years, but he’s supposed to come home after the tourney. Why do you ask, Ser?”
OR, the one where Aerion is secretly the lovechild of Maekar and Lyonel. Yes, really.

Summary
Achilles watched the sleeping figure lying peacefully on his makeshift bed, hunted eyes scanning the tanned bruised skin partially covered by thin sheets. Fingers twitching as he remembered the feel of that skin just under his fingertips, the shivers wrecking the lithe toned body as it arched beneath his every touch, sweat glistening as it reflected the light cast by a lone torch attached to one of the tents mast. Moans, gasps and whimpers still ringing in his ears even with the sound of the evening sea breeze raging outside. He sighed and buried his head in the cradle of his open palms, images of tear stained cheeks, vacant brown eyes and broken bleeding skin dancing just behind his closed lids.
“Achilles . . .” the tents flaps were pushed aside, Odysseus breaking the tense silence inside.
Achilles snapped his head up, turning abruptly to his unexpected and not-quite-welcomed guest, bringing a finger against his pursed lips to signal the man to be quiet. He stood up, sparing the sleeping form a lingering glance before passing the stunned Odysseus and heading outside, noticing the passing look the man gave the still figure at his bed.
