Because Amdiala had been so openly vocal about stopping the Hutts, the Chancellor was forced to make a public showing of diplomacy that lead to the agreement of an arranged marriage between the most powerful man in the galaxy and one of Jabba's representatives.

Anakin shifted so he could look into Obi-Wan's eyes easier while still cushioned on his thighs. "I don't think you see us as something casual, or anything, but I guess I need to know how serious you see this." He gave another reassuring squeeze to Obi-Wan's hand with an accompanying deep breath. "I've been thinking, lately, that it might be time for you to meet Luke and Leia. But I don't want to introduce someone into their lives unless it's real. Unless there's a chance it could be permanent."
"Oh, Anakin," Obi-Wan's voice came out as a whisper and he found himself having to blink back tears that were threatening to fall. "Of course this is real. And I very much hope that it is permanent."
Anakin hoisted himself up to give Obi-Wan a sweet kiss that made him feel cherished. "Me too, baby. Me, too."

Summary
