Sokka was a strategist. Being the only man of the tribe, he had to learn to use the tribe’s few strengths to protect their many weaknesses. It wasn’t an easy task.
When Katara came back from the warship and told him that she thought Aang had been frozen in that iceberg for a hundred years, he didn’t doubt her. His eyes followed the naive young boy as he played with the children of the village, tattoos out for show without a hood or a parka to cover them, the Airbender not realizing the extent of the danger he had put them all in. He pieced it all together. He made a plan.

Sokka makes a deal with Zuko. If you leave my tribe alone, I’ll go with you willingly. What he doesn’t say is that he isn’t the Avatar. He sent the real Avatar away with Katara. -
