Emma tilted her head.
“No breathtaking social life I’m interrupting?”
Peter deadpanned. “Emma, I ate a Pop-Tart for dinner yesterday.”
Emma placed a hand dramatically against her chest. “Peter Parker, you poor thing.”
He laughed despite himself.
Dangerous.
Emma always did this. She’d sweep into his life wearing impossible outfits and saying outrageous things with complete confidence, and somehow Peter always forgot how to breathe properly around her. Which was ridiculous, because this was professional.

She pulled away from him with a wink, a sway in her steps as she padded silent through the living room. Peter loved her.
Her father was right about one thing. A woman like Felicia deserved something more special than a ring from Zales hidden away in a cake.
She deserved a proposal as unique as she was.
