The voice was accented, but only just. That fact processed for him before the words did.
“Pardon?” Arthur asked.
He’s coming closer.
Arthur took a step back.
“Cursed energy. You know, jujutsu. Or whatever you Brits call it— sorcery?”
Please, oh god, please don’t let this be another cult.
“I’m afraid I don’t follow.”
The other man laughed.
It reminded Arthur too much of Kayne for comfort.
“Oh,” the man said, laughter petering out, “You’re serious.”
