Summary
Everything was static inside the head of Itoshi Rin. Nothing was really computing inside his brain and there was a knife twisting in his chest, even if said knife was only in his imagination. A tear scaped his eye and he was sure that was real, it tasted real.
Do winners cry like this?
He wasn't sure about that answer. What he was sure of was that this feeling felt like dying, again. Like planning his death, again. And he was sure he was ready to try, again. To find the Nii-chan he hasn't seen in a long time, because maybe in the after life, there was his Nii-chan. Not Itoshi Sae, only Sae, Rin's Nii-chan.
Or...
Bunny shepherds the exhausted striker out of the stadium and forgets to tell Ego or anyone else about it.

Summary
Arai Rin was just a guy who played soccer.
He was practicing alone in the rain when he slipped. His foot gave way, the world tilted, and everything went dark.
Then he woke up as someone else. Smaller, chubby arms, and a nosebleed on a playground.
Now he's a toddler named Itoshi Rin, with a brother who was a manga character. A brother with choppy maroon hair and a blank expression, who offers him ice cream like it's the most natural thing in the world.
Rin doesn't really know how to act like Itoshi Rin. He doesn't know if he'll ever go back. But for now, he follows his older brother's small back down the hallway, down the street, onto the field. He lets the future answer for itself.

Rin Itoshi is the only one who discovers the truth—the entire program is nothing more than a gigantic AI experiment, full of infinite loops to create the perfect striker. All the other players are programmed NPCs… or at least that's how it should be.
The more Rin interacts with them, the more the AIs gain self-awareness. Real feelings. Real desires. And a growing obsession with the only being who can make them feel something real in this false world.
Now, Isagi, Shidou, Nagi, Kaiser, Ness, Reo, Bachira, Charles, and Karasu no longer care about becoming the best striker in the world.
They just want Rin.Because if he manages to escape the simulator… they will all cease to exist.
And none of them intend to let that happen.
