Summary
"This can't be happening," Hizashi mutters, his breath coming out fast now because his son is missing and then he realises that Hitoshi's phone isn't on the night stand.
It's either a very bad sign—would Hitoshi take it if he ran away?—or a very good one—if he took it with him, he'll answer it, right?—Hizashi thinks and he scrambles to get his own phone, speed-dialling Hitoshi's number.
To his credit, the kid picks up after the second ring.
"Where are you?" Hizashi asks, not even giving Hitoshi time to greet him and he waits for his answer with baited breath.
"I'm on the roof," Hitoshi gives back, that noise in the background suddenly making a lot more sense and Hizashi wants to let out a relieved breath when pure, cold panic slams into him.
His kid is on the roof in the middle of the night.

The room is still, their harsh breaths fill the air, outside the moon shines brightly. Izuku picks at the edge of a bandage on his wrist, feels the strap of his sling dig into his shoulder. The whir of machinery buzzes quietly in the background.
“The fuck did you even come here for if you’re so mad?” Katsuki finally asks, his voice just a wisp in the air, hanging heavy between them.
Izuku’s head snaps up, and god Katsuki looks so unbelievably tired. He looks small and tired and just as lost as Izuku

Or, two very tired boys have a late night, long overdue conversation about their past, their feelings, and what it means to sacrifice it all.
