When he froze, she realized she sounded harsher than she meant. Gritting her teeth and closing her eyes, she took a deep breath to regain her bearings, before standing on all four paws, turning around to face the tall grass-type.
"No, don't leave," she said, in a softer voice this time. "Just stay with me...please."
Just you, Briar. Only you.
His yellow eyes flicked over her. The scar above her left eye was still there, and it had always been there when she was still an Eevee, which he suspected she had it when she was a human, although it was not like she could remember.
Her eyes were a deep blue, similar to that of the darkest depths of the ocean. A far cry from the black color other Vaporeon and most Pokemon had, but it looked nice on her. And only her.
Her choosing the evolved form of a Vaporeon was fitting. She had always loved the water, so her choosing the type of that specific element came to no surprise for him.
He stared at her in silence, before a small smile came over his face.
"Okay," he said with a small chuckle. "I'll stay."
