The room is too bright.
It’s quaint, in a nauseating sort of way. Polished floors glint from the gleaming honeycomb chandeliers overhead, make him squint. A few vases sprinkled here and there, filling the room with a sickeningly sweet scent – even a waffle-cone headrest framing the silken sheets of a neatly-tucked bed. Outside, the golden sun gleams, the gentle rays of light spilling past curtains that waver in the afternoon breeze.
It's meant to be beautiful. Luxurious. Welcoming.
With one sweep of his cane, Shadow Milk tears it apart.

Summary
Small story that was stuck in my brain and kept me from sleeping so I had to write it down. It's only very, VERY slight Qiushulin, please forgive me. (More like Qiuyuan silently yearning as he loves to do lol): Qiuyuan gets saves by Jingran in the desert and makes some surprising discoveries when talking to the man.
“But I do care if some idiots think they have the right to waltz into our area and hunt down whatever they please. Gotta teach them a lesson.” The stranger smirked.
“But they are from the ISA. Do you want to draw Mingting’s scorn on you?”
“Mingting?”, the man scoffed loudly as if Qiuyuan had just insulted his entire family, “Who gives a fuck about them? They couldn’t find us, even if they wanted to. And even if they did – Our tribe bows to no one - not Mingting, not the Sentinel and certainly not some ISA organization that thinks it has any right to chase you down in our home.”Bookmarked by Starlight_19

“The wolf,” he continued, “found himself smiling. Laughing. He stopped thinking about the plan. Because for the first time... he was happy. But guilt festered like rot. So one day, he shed his disguise and revealed his true self.”
He paused.“And the golden lamb did not run.”
“He simply said: ‘It’s good to see you... in your true form, my friend.’ And they stayed together. Inseparable.”
The Fool’s voice dropped low again.
“Until one day, a new sheep came to the garden. Her fur was silver, like the moonlight. The golden lamb fell in love with her. And the wolf... became jealous.”
“But,” he added quickly, “the silver lamb was kind. Sharp and funny. And over time, the wolf and she began to talk. Then laugh. Then understand one another.”
“The wolf realized his jealousy was foolish. The garden was meant for all hearts — not just his. In time, they all became friends.”
“And then they kissed and lived happily ever after!” Matcha declared, bouncing up with a grin.
(Basically a 7k-word slow-burn where Shadow Milk is dramatically pining over White Lily and Pure Vanilla meanwhile, the other two are just vibing, fully convinced they’re already in a relationship with him.)
