Kris never slept peacefully. Especially recently.. They either stayed up too long because of restlessness or because the weight of guilt held them down and ate them alive. Worries and chants of self-hatred have clouded their thoughts for the past few weeks, maybe even years. Ultimately, their heavy eyes closed and soon drifted off to sleep. Usually, their dreams are about discarded childhood dreams or nightmares about the future. But tonight was something new entirely.
