Summary
~ I cannot seem to get enough of writing about these two. ~
Memories of Wakanda, alive with golden light keeping demons at bay.
Fragments of their life back in America, with its lurking shadows and promises of better days.
And, most importantly, those better days.~ Some fragments are set during, some after all the events from Civil War to Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Rachel Summers is a very canon-divergent version of her comics self, almost an OC - almost.
You could read this without having gone through Part 1 and 2, but I recommend you to take this series in the right order. Those snippets lose most of their interest otherwise.

The United States used to be their home. Even together, they could not feel lonelier.James cannot - will not - readjust to civilian life and let go of Steve's ghost. And now that the world knows about Rachel's immense powers, her whole life is infinitely more complicated.
The telepathic bond that saved them in the first place may eventually cause their demise.

She finds much more when she reads his mind. They are kindred spirits and they will each free the other from their shackles and demons.

Rachel Summers (along with all the rest) is the property of MARVEL, this insert in the story of the MCU is almost original but more of a very, very canon-divergent crossover version of Rachel for this Avengers / X-Men crossover.
