Summary
Marie has dreamed of being in The Seven since the tragic loss of her family. Through her rocky tenure on the team, she learns a terrible secret from a blacklisted ex-hero turned into a gym-owning hardass. Things should be straightforward from there, except the ex-hero happens to be the very idol who helped her discover truths about herself she never would've imagined.

She watched Jordan for a moment longer, her eyes shifting between their bodies and the tension in the unspoken language. A lot can be said without it leaving their mouths at all; that's what she liked about heartbeats. Of all the things she could choose to focus on regarding the circulatory system, the heart was her favorite.
Spending so much time with Jordan, spending so much time tuned in to the sound of their voice, to the steady thrum and thud of their heart – meant she knew the sound of them surprised the same way she knew what the front of her palm looked like.
A gentle flash of those pearly white teeth and the fucking dimples, she could recall so many moments off the top of her head where she was the sole cause of that smile in private. And now they were flirting across the ballroom, talk about whiplash.

Jordan Li is a junior at Godolkin University, ranked number four. They recently were given the role of T.A. for Professor Brinkerhoff’s Intro to Crimefighting class. They’re persistent on working their way up the chain and their no-nonsense approach to their training and studies is well admired. Unfortunately, no matter how hard they try, the rankings never seem to sway in their favor.

AU with a bigger focus on mariejordan because the two of them together make me so happy :) There is no ‘The Woods’ and Luke does not kill Brink but there is still plenty of drama, angst, fluff, and everything that I wanted to see more of in Gen V. I do have a potential mystery similar to ‘The Woods’ situation but I haven’t decided yet whether I want to include it or just focus more on the college experience, let me know in the comments what you would like to see!

Summary
So basically, it's a cannon divergence from the finale of the first season (no white room), basically picks up a couple of days after the events of the finale. I wanted to write a fic about what it would be like if they had a chance at a "normal" life. Or as normal as it can be. Vought still exists and they're still a bunch of bastards, but Jordan and Marie's goals are no longer aligned with wanting to be in The Seven. Emma has a chance to do things how she wants to (none of the bullshit with her mom and Vought). And Andre also has an interesting arc going on imo.
It's gonna be a long, multi chapter fic. There will be time skips. Basically working our way through their lives, with a special focus on Marie and Jordan and how their relationship unfolds as they grow up and find their places in the world, growing into their own people and all that jazz. There will be angst!!! So much that I start out with a lot of soft fluff shit, lol. But by chapter 6 / 7 angst starts coming in full force. Which is fun for me, but yeah. There will be tears, I apologize.
