Summary
In days of yore, the Viking age was born in blood and fire on an island off the English coast. Long before that fateful day; before the Roman eagle spread its wings over Europe, before the first humans settled down to raise a farm, there were the Dragons.
For countless ages the dragons prospered, ruled over by the Alpha Species; The Bewilderbeast, Red Deaths and Night Furies. However, they were brought down by greed and hubris, and their golden age fell to ruin.
The Red Queen rose to power, enslaving the dragon race and massacring the other Alphas, all save for one young Fury, barely more than a fledgling, who the Queen enslaved and used as a spy to hunt the survivors of her kind.
Untold years passed. The Age of Alphas faded into legend.
Then, One night, a young Viking by the name of Hiccup manages the impossible; shooting down the last Night Fury - the same female the Queen enslaved so long ago - over his village of Berk.
An act of desperate hope will change his life forever and maybe, just maybe, rekindle the glory of ages past...
