“See- the first integration I created for the E-Band was the NHF for gaming. On old consoles, if you got punched or crashed, your controller would shake or something. It was nice immersion, but now there was a whole new way to immerse someone in a game. Nintendo did away with controllers almost entirely with last gen’s Manos, going with gesture-based-controls on wristbands. They still included classic features like Rumble, but now the E-Band put the screen entirely inside your own head. It made graphics so realistic it could even make you think you’re staring into the sun without actually causing your eyes any damage- cause it physically couldn’t! But it was still graphics, and me? No, I wasn’t satisfied with that. There was so much more than just ‘graphics’ that I could work with.
My NHF suite targeted a different part of the brain than the ocular nodes, letting the Machine Learning Module tailor the different sensations to each person. Once you got your E-Band calibrated, you could feel the recoil of a gun in your shooter game or the vibrations of a car in a racing game or even the heat of fire or the pressure of deep water.”
