Summary
When everyone insisted that John Russell, the man who lived a near identical life to Gus, killed himself, it really shook Gus up. And proving it was murder, not suicide, didn't help the nightmares and worries that came from that case.
So Gus calls Shawn.

Summary
Gus would prefer to have done some of the more life-endangering parts differently, sure. But for what it was and still is, he loves what he and Shawn built together. He loves it so much he's uprooting his entire adult life to move to San Francisco on a whim to keep doing it, for as long as they both decide it's worthwhile—hopefully for many years to come.
Which is why, in the midst of this glowing ball of zeal and rightness that's thrumming inside him, he can't ignore one last niggling splinter. He can't quite forget about the final part of Shawn's message.
Or: Shawn is the best thing to ever happen to Gus. Gus is sick and tired of Shawn not seeing it that way.
