Summary
Astarion was supposed to meet someone important today after crash landing on the beach, but he didn’t. Now he’s stuck playing the leader’s role for her while an unhelpful skeleton insists he track her down and drag her back to where she belongs. His thoughts are no longer his own, forced to remember a love he never asked for and doesn't want anything to do with. If he can survive the journey though, he'll free them both once and for all from this prison of fate he didn't know he was in.
Alternatively: "Wouldn't it be interesting if Astarion could see just how many times I've played this exact story line because I can't ever seem to choose anyone else?" I asked myself one night, not realizing I would become possessed with the need to answer my own question.

Summary
Astarion is given his memories from every life he's ever lived all at once because some random woman failed to be captured by an alien ship flying through Baldur's Gate. Only it turns out that this random woman is the love of not just one of his lives, but all of them. As much as he tries to resist Fate's puppet strings, Astarion can't quite avoid falling in love with her all over again.

Astarion’s eyes flutter with surprise. “I-I would like that. I’ve held more people than I can count. An infinite parade of lovers. But a friend?” He pauses on the question and his face becomes crestfallen. “I can’t think of a single one.”
He puts his hand out to Effy, to which she happily accepts.
“Until you,” he says with a smile—that only she’s ever seen.
Ever since that moment the two remained friends and even got an apartment together in the Lower City shortly after defeating the Netherbrain.
It’s been several months since; and Effy is still happily living with her vampire bestie, but Astarion’s been acting different lately…
